No one likes to make a claim – we know that. But if you need to, we’ll do everything in our power to make the experience as easy and hassle-free as possible.
Get in touch straight away
If you have to claim, it’s really important to contact your insurer as soon as possible – don’t hang about. If you delay, or leave it too late, you risk being only paid in part or not at all.
Another tip: never admit liability or agree to do anything if someone’s trying to claim against you – other than vital emergency measures, like making a broken shop window secure. Your insurer will clarify all these details when they review the claim.
What about near misses?
You must also let us, or your insurer, know if something happens that could lead to a claim (you’ll have agreed to this in your policy). These can include:
- A visitor tripping or slipping on your premises
- A customer complaining that you’ve damaged their property
- Someone threatening to claim against you

Who should I call?
